For those that are new to crossfit and are not aware this WOD is named after a U.S Navy seal that was killed when his seal team came under heavy attack in the mountains of Afghanistan by more than 150 Taliban. Please click on the youtube link below for a little bit of motivation to push just that little bit more !!

Just to add to Ash’s comments its worth checking out crossfit assault to have a look at the ‘Summary of Action’ of Operation Redwing. It gives details of what happened to the four Navy Seal team and the 16 man extraction team in a chinook helicopter. I cant seem to forget this story and participating in the Murph makes me think about all our diggers. I was very new to crossfit when they decided to do the Murph one Saturday and was …… scared until I read this story, then I thought wtf, just do it.

  • Ronnie says:

Zahra and Flick are definitely in. Everyone needs to get onto Flick about becoming a CrossFitter. Peer pressure and numbers should get Flick involved

Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports. ~Greg Glassman
