How do I get started

New to CrossFit ?

STEP 1

Because CrossFit is nothing like you would have seen before we recommend you take the time to drop in and observe one of the group sessions taking place, so you get a feel for what we are all about. This is also a great opportunity to talk to the Coach’s and ask any questions you may have.

STEP 2

Book into our next Fundamentals course.
The course consists of 9 sessions over 3 weeks and introduces those new to Crossfit to the 9 Fundamental movement of Crossfit as well as as a brief introduction to Olympic Lifts, Gymnastic movements and other basic athletic skills and knowledge that you will require to gain the most out of your Crossfit experience and work towards your fitness goals.

To ensure saftey all new Tenacity members that are also new to Crossfit will be required to complete the Fundamentals Course regardless of your current fitness level.
The aim of the course is to introduce you to the methods and style of training we use at Crossfit Tenacity, we also want every new member to feel comfortable and confident when joining our club and community.
Those new to Tenacity with prior Crossfit experience will be required to complete a 1:1 skill evaluation with one of our coaches to ensure safety and proper mechanics in all of the 9 fundamental movements.

The Fundamentals course runs on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays at 7:30 – 8:30pm. Each course is limited to 10 people.
Attendance to all sessions is required – any missed sessions will need be caught up, you can arrange a time with one of our coaches at a cost of $25 for the 1 hour session.

Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports. ~Greg Glassman
